Bio
Haoran Chen is a fashion designer based in New York and Shanghai, currently studying at Parsons School of Design. His work explores the emotional and social complexities of human relationships—particularly gender dynamics and the body's connection to nature. Blending traditional craftsmanship with emerging technologies like 3D printing and Clo3D, Chen creates garments that merge delicate materials and sculptural forms. His designs often feature leather, lace, embroidery, and beading, emphasizing the curves of the female body through geometric and organic structures.
Influenced by his mother's elegant wardrobe, Chen uses fashion as a cinematic language to express intimacy, desire, and identity. Drawing inspiration from both China and New York, he combines avant-garde urban aesthetics with classic tailoring. Through his work, he aims to evoke strength and emotion in the wearer, challenging boundaries of gender, age, and social roles while fostering a dialogue between tradition and the future.
