Bio
Hyerim Kim is a fashion designer born in Korea and based in New York, whose work is shaped by her experience of living between cultures. Navigating the spaces between Korean heritage and Western context, she explores hybrid aesthetics that question fixed definitions of style. Her creative process often begins with collage, both physical and digital, as a playful method to bring together elements that might otherwise clash. She draws inspiration from overlooked moments, awkward combinations, and subtle disruptions that spark curiosity, and sometimes humor.
With a foundation in streetwear, Hyerim blends structured tailoring, unexpected layering, and offbeat silhouettes to create pieces that feel familiar but quietly defiant. Her garments often shift depending on how they are styled or worn, inviting reinterpretation and individuality. Her work embraces contradiction, spontaneity, and the quiet beauty of the unexpected.
