"My Bome"

My Bome is a thesis collection that captures the transformative power of love through the special bond between the designer and her dog, Bibi. Named after the Korean word for spring, bome symbolizes the season of renewal, warmth, and emotional rebirth that Bibi brought into the designer’s life. This collection is rooted in their shared memories—joyful daily walks, energetic playtimes with her favorite toys, lively agility training at kindergarten, moments of cuddling on quiet afternoons, and the comforting rhythm of simply being together through every season.
Each garment is inspired not only by these moments, but also by Bibi’s toys—translating their soft, sculptural, and whimsical forms into wearable silhouettes. In doing so, the designer imagines herself as becoming one of Bibi’s toys—playful, comforting, and beloved—offering joy in return. Through padded volumes, exaggerated proportions, and pastel color palettes, My Bome transforms memory into material, and love into form. The collection stands as a tactile love letter, expressing how deep emotional connection can turn ordinary moments into a season of personal blooming—for both giver and receiver.

Bio

Krystal Ham is a fashion designer from Seoul, South Korea, currently based in New York City. After attending international and boarding schools across Korea and the United States, she developed a unique sensitivity to emotional expression and human connection. Growing up between cultures taught her to observe and feel deeply—an instinct that became the foundation of her design voice. She graduated from Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Fashion Design, concentrating on womenswear and narrative-based design.

Krystal’s work is rooted in the translation of complex emotional experiences into sculptural, concept-driven garments. Her approach is defined by a strong attention to form, materiality, and silhouette—merging technical precision with intuitive storytelling. She seeks to create garments that resonate on both a visual and emotional level, inviting reflection, curiosity, and connection.

She has gained hands-on industry experience through internships at Chanel Korea, Shinsegae International, and Handsome, where she developed a strong understanding of both design and the business of fashion across luxury and contemporary markets.
