As The Dust Settles

Each living being, each soul that walks this earth, exists for but a mere moment in the endless expanse of time. Beneath the boundless sky, they breathe the vibrant air that stirs around them, their feet grounded by the earth's steadfast embrace. In that fleeting instant, they create a life—one that is entirely their own, an unfolding journey of becoming. It is a life in which they discover who they are, a life shaped by the ebb and flow of emotions that pulse through each passing day. In their joy, they soar, their smiles wide and unrestrained, a radiant warmth that fills the heart. Yet in their sorrow, they sink, their spirits bruised by the ache that lingers in the silence.
Life, so rich and brief, is a paradox—undeniably vibrant, yet destined to slip away. And when it fades, what remains? What echoes of this fragile existence endure in the stillness? My senior thesis collection, As The Dust Settles, explores the way in which memories endure even when time has taken its toll. Forgotten towns linger like whispers in the Colorado mountains as red tailed hawks soar from above. The raw and rugged beauty of the place where I call home, sparked inspiration to delve into the comfort and shrouded mysteries of those who come before us and the presence they leave behind. Alongside this exploration, I weave in the heirlooms of my grandparents, creating a vivid contrast between the fragile beauty of personal history and the encroaching wilderness from the Colorado forests.
