The Liminal Home
The concept of liminal space refers to a transitional or in-between phase, where a person or object is no longer in the previous phase, but not yet fully arrived at the next.
This theme resonates with my personal experience of moving houses frequently, where each move leaves me in a state of uncertainty—no longer part of the old home but not yet settled in the new one.
Bio
Renee Deng is a New York-based fashion designer whose work is rooted in close observation of everyday moments. She draws inspiration from the subtle details of daily life, using them as entry points to explore broader social conditions and philosophical reflections. Through material experimentation and narrative-driven design, she seeks to question norms and create garments that provoke thought and emotion.
Technologically driven, she incorporates innovative methods such as laser-cutting metal to physically articulate conceptual themes. Her practice merges craft and digital precision, using technology not as an aesthetic add-on, but as an integral language to express the core of her ideas.
