Thank You ♡

This collection wouldn’t exist without a whole lot of support, encouragement, and late nights powered by snacks and stubbornness.

I would like to thank my Thesis professors, Lyn Caponera and Neil Grotzinger, for challenging me and believing in my weird ideas.

Thank you to my family for cheering me on from thousands of miles away and always supporting this wild, sugar-filled dream.

Thank you to my friends and peers for the laughs, long nights, and creative chaos.

Bio

Originally from Beijing, China, Shixing begins her design process with personal stories, drawing from memories and emotions. Her process centers on experimentation—free draping, fabric manipulation, and texture-making. Free draping allows intuitive design development, while fabric exploration helps her build connections between material, texture, and narrative. Through combining materials and techniques, she creates tactile experiences that invite audiences to engage with her story. These explorations become the foundation of her garments, transforming them into living narratives. Her goal is to design beyond aesthetics, creating intimate, emotional connections and allowing wearers to experience deeper meanings through the textures and stories embedded in each piece.
