REALM:SUBREAL

The project explores the subconscious through a series of dreams that reflect anxiety, confinement, and emotional dislocation. Though I may appear composed and joyful in daily life, I frequently experience vivid dreams where I am chased, trapped, or endlessly escaping from unknown places. These recurring dreams act as metaphors for subconscious fears and desires implicit deep within me. It exposes psychological states I cannot fully express while awake.
A key component of my work is an experimental material I developed by hardening thread with resin. This material symbolizes the transformation of a soft, fluid medium like a dream into something rigid and enclosing. The thread represents the dream itself, and the resin captures the feeling of being trapped within it. This process not only embodies my emotional narrative but also pushes the boundaries of conventional textile design. The collection unfolds like a dream sequence, with each look representing a stage: arrival, absorption, transformation, defense, collapse, and rebirth. Through sculptural forms, metallic finishes, and fragmented silhouettes, I aim to express the tension between illusion and identity, desire and fear, vulnerability and strength. Ultimately, this project serves as both a personal reflection and a speculative exploration of how dreams, materials, and dystopian aesthetics can converge to tell stories that are at once intimate and futuristic.
