Image: “5022” is a collection rooted in dialogue—between past and present, East and West, tradition and personal experience. The name itself combines “5000,” a reference to the vast span of the five thousand years old Chinese history and cultural heritage, with “22,” representing my own twenty two years of journey shaped by a cross-cultural life between China and the United States. Through this number, the collection becomes both a tribute and a reinterpretation—bridging millennia of aesthetic tradition with an individual, contemporary voice.

Bio

Zengyu is a fashion designer whose work focuses on silhouette, drape, and the quiet interplay between fabric and the body. He is especially interested in the negative space created between clothing and form, seeing it as a subtle but meaningful part of how garments move and breathe. Originally from China and raised in the United States, Zengyu draws from both cultures in a way that feels natural to his personal experience. His designs aim to reflect a quiet balance—between structure and softness, tradition and modernity—while remaining grounded in a thoughtful and intuitive approach to clothing.
