Image: MAADANG STORY is a fashion accessories collection inspired by childhood memories of nature and tranquility in Upstate New York. “Maadang,” meaning yard in Korean, reflects the forest that felt like an extension of home, where wild rabbits roamed and wildlife thrived. Drawing from the illustrative styles of Peter Rabbit and Brambly Hedge, I created three original watercolor collages that became the central textile prints for the collection. The accessories include scarves, sun hats, leather bags, and soft keychains, all featuring custom-printed fabrics produced digitally in the Garment District to reduce environmental impact. Materials were chosen for function and feel—silk twill, cotton twill, and poly satin—and leftover scraps were repurposed to minimize waste. This collection transforms personal memories into wearable stories through thoughtful design and sustainable practices.
