Fashion Product
Atomania
Atomania is a thesis collection centered around an atomic modular system. Inspired by how atoms form molecules, fashion products in this collection are constructed by multiple small segments that can be adjusted, added, interchanged, or removed during customization. Without using any hardware in the design, every segment/atom links with itself. The simplicity of the mechanism encourages customers to playfully deconstruct and assemble the atoms into functional products.
Nowadays, fast fashion generates a huge amount of pollution with the materials wasted when people discard their items shortly after use, whereas this “atomic modular system” provides a solution. The more “flexible” a fashion product can be, the less likely it is going to be discarded right after use. “Flexible” refers to the product’s ability to be adjusted by its customers according to their needs, which allows its lifetime to be extended as it remains aesthetically desirable and functionally useful. Crafted from sustainable materials, including veg-tan leather and recycled bonded leather, Atomania speaks to our responsibility as designers to pursue a better future.
