Of Many
The overlapping of my lived experience and my ancestral memory concocts a rich point of reference in the direction of belonging. The Viennese iron works that surrounded my childhood and the recollection of eastern ornamentation inform the prints in this collection. Prints that subjugate historic and cultural references into the elementary pattern of stripes and polka dots. These decorative motifs, both rigid and fluid, reflect the clutter of identity and place. Coins are embroidered onto light mesh, their weight contrasting with the softness, symbolizing memory and exchange. The silhouettes feel weightless and are worn with ease. Sheer glimpses reveal vulnerability, and clean lines offer stability. “Of Many” is an open-ended promise: belonging is not something to be defined, but something to be lived in.
