Bio

Maria Maheras is a multimedia artist who explores a range of themes usually pertaining to Alternative music based subculture, social activism, and history. Belonging to communities like goth and metal, Maria uses inspiration from her experiences in these subcultures to pull visual themes and concepts, and is often inspired by the people around her and personal experience.

When not creating art she finds inspiration in political activism, providing mutual aid to others, reading history, and classic gothic literature She allows these experiences to inform her paintings, graphic design, music, taxidermy, fashion design, jewelry creation, leather work, dance, and crafting.
